Where Chiefs, Traditional Councils, elders, land custodians, and recognized community leadership hold responsibilities involving land, culture, heritage, or community affairs, AASA considers respectful dialogue with those leaders foundational. Their knowledge can provide essential understanding of community history, local priorities, cultural expectations, land relationships, and appropriate engagement. Traditional relationships work alongside—not instead of—national law, government institutions, professional due diligence, and lawful processes.
Before creating another business, AASA asks: Who is already doing the work? Could an existing African enterprise expand? Could technology strengthen it? Could diaspora expertise increase its capability? Could additional customers or capital help it grow? Could a partnership or joint venture create more value than another startup? AASA seeks to build with Africa's existing entrepreneurs and institutions whenever that creates the stronger path.
